What Our Guests Say?
“Absolutely stunning villa, nestled under the mountains and a 10-minute walk from the pretty village of Canillas de Albaida. The villa itself is stunning – beautiful interiors and pretty gardens. There are lots of lovely spaces to sunbathe, surrounded by beautiful scents from the many jasmines and other scented plants. It is exceptionally well decorated, and the bathrooms are lovely – a mix of Moorish and modern. Lots and lots of space, so even with 6 people staying you will never feel ‘on top’ of each other. We chose to have the pool heated, which was an extra cost, but so well worth it. It meant we could use the pool all day, every day – even during a couple of overcast days we had. The gardens are simply lovely – there are lovely jasmines and passion flowers – even a pomegranate tree. The terrace overlooks land that is planted with a mix of trees – olives, avocado, mango hazelnut, pomegranate……
All the furnishings feel luxurious and the bedding was beautiful. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need – even the cutlery was special. Plenty of towels both in the bathrooms and for the pool. The views are incredible. You can see the sea to the east and watch amazing sunsets to the west. Different every night. Susan, the host, was fab. Lots of contact and responds really quickly to inquiries. We will be back – if you’ll have us! It’s our new favourite place to really chill out and relax.” Thank you
“We had a great stay at Casa Torre. We really enjoyed the house, the fantastic view and the many good hikes in the area. The house has everything we needed, everything worked as advertised, and the heating throughout the house – incl. heated floors in bathrooms – made the house very comfortable at all times of day for us. The view from the terrace is amazing and we really enjoyed the heated pool which kept our two kids happy in the sunny afternoon hours. Dining out from this house should definitely include a visit to the Meson Mudejar Vegan in Árchez. This place serves very yummy and high-quality food both for lunch and dinner. The Casa Torre gets our finest recommendations.”
“Susan’s place is beautiful, both inside in terms of decoration and her wonderful sense of style, and outside in terms of the view. You get there up a winding hillside road, and, although it’s a few minutes by car from two towns, it feels very much separated. You are surrounded by orange and avocado trees, away from the bustle of the Andalucian cities. It was the only place we stayed where we didn’t feel like we had to shush the kids all the time!”
“A lovely house with every comfort and beautiful artwork. Fabulous views and a scented garden. The sun shimmering on a fabulous pool (clear & warm, what a treat). The gentle hum of insects, birdsong, distant church bells. the occasional clip-clop of horses passing by… We have had a great holiday here. Thank you, Susan, for letting us share your lovely house.”
“We’ve stayed here for a week to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary with our children. As we entered the villa, we were really overwhelmed. Such a beautiful house, such a beautiful view! So luxurious; like living as the sultans of Alhambra! We’ve made beautiful walks and went to Granada and Nerja. But we enjoyed the ambiance of the house most of all! Thank you, Susan, for everything. We would love to come back here.”
“Had a lovely time… we are not walkers but really enjoyed the walks in this area with lovely views. The Sierra Nevada is 2 hours’ drive away and a must for skiers.
From there, you can ski in the morning and be on the beach in an hour – not many places in the world you can do that.”
Lovely peaceful location, spacious villa. We had a really lovely time. We had a bbq which turned out very well (get you own coals) and found the Eroski supermarket in Competa MUCH better stocked than the small one in Canillas. All in all a fabulous break in a beautiful scenic location and great correspondence from Susan. Thank you, and I love your watercolour in the bedroom, Susan!”
